Napa is a well-known destination for foodies and wine lovers. But did you know it’s also a great place to spend quality family time with the kids? The region offers far more than winery tours and romantic getaways. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite kid-friendly things to do in Napa, including parks, scenic spots, and family-focused gatherings. And when it’s time to choose from the wide variety of Napa restaurants, you won’t go wrong with Downtown Joe’s!
No Whining: Fun Times With Kids in Napa
Let’s dive right in:
- Tour a farm and ranch. Connolly Ranch Education Center connects kids of all ages to nature through farm-based education, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards to care for the world around them.
- Take a hike. Napa is home to over 50 parks and 880 acres of public lands. Short and sweet suggestions tailored to tots and teens include Alston Park, with its three miles of trails bordered by vineyards, and the two-and-a-half mile hike to Lake Marie in Skyline Park. Another fun hike is to the Bale Grist Mill, which offers tours and demos on weekends.
- View modern and contemporary art. Kids love the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art’s Sculpture Meadow, where a one-third-mile trail takes them through large-scale installations that inspire and delight even the youngest family members.
- Rent a bike. Weather permitting, rent some bikes from Napa Valley Bike Tours and set off on a family-friendly route through the vineyards that includes a view of resident longhorns that are fun to visit.
