Ready to visit a Napa brewery or two? Here’s what to know.

The Napa Beer Scene

You may be in wine country, but the locally crafted Napa beer scene continues to grow ever larger and popular. If you’re planning a visit to Napa and are in the mood to visit some beer venues amid the vines, you have plenty of options to choose from, including Downtown Joe’s, whose hops history dates back to 1985.

There are dozens of breweries and taprooms located around the greater Napa area, and many of them serve up consistently high-quality local craft beers. They’re helping to push the craft beer industry forward here, investing in new methods and styles of beer-making that are winning them well-deserved awards.

Visit Downtown Joe’s Napa Brewery

Beer brewing in the Napa Valley began back in the 1800s. And while Downtown Joe’s can’t lay claim to being around back then, we are one of the pioneers of the post-prohibition beer brewing phenom that started in the 1980s.

In 1988, Willet’s Brewery opened, and in 1993 it became known as “Downtown Joe’s.” Our Napa brewery produces some of the area’s finest craft beers, and our passionate brewmasters are known for creating beers with unique flavors and memorable tastes.

Here are just a few of their masterpieces.

  • Pale Ales range from “Raspberry Blonde” to a “Triple Dog Dare IPA” that pays homage to the West Coast’s tradition of making bigger IPAs.
  • We currently offer two amber beers, including our most popular ale, “Tail Waggin’ Amber Ale.”
  • Fancy something stronger? Our “Old Magnolia Oatmeal Stout and “Rebob Porter” porter offer robust hoppiness for fans of dark beers.
  • Our wheat, IPA, and seasonal offerings are some of the tastiest beers in the Valley.

You can check them all out on our website or, better yet, stop in and sample a few. Regulars and visitors alike love nothing more than enjoying one or more of their favorite brews while taking in one of our live music events or sports event viewings. With so many great local craft beers to pick from, it’s no surprise Napa is becoming a destination for both world-class wine and beer.
