There’s no place quite like Napa. You could easily spend a week or more exploring all it has to offer. If your current schedule only allows for a day trip, don’t despair. We’ve got some great tips for how to spend a perfect day in Napa, including, of course, a stop at Downtown Joe’s!
One Perfect Day in Napa
- Winery tour. There are nearly 500 wineries and tasting rooms in Napa, so it’s tempting to try and see as many as possible. However, if you only have one day, consider choosing just one for a tour and then pick a couple other wineries or rooms for tastings. The good news is, you really can’t go wrong with whichever locations you decide on—the wines will be delectable and the views breathtaking! Just be sure to see if your winery or tasting room of choice requires advance reservations.
- Scenic driving tour. No day trip to Napa is complete without taking a scenic drive. If you don’t arrive by car, consider renting one for the day. Choose a route that takes you to your winery choices, but avoid the main highway whenever possible. Silverado Trail is congested and a much more enjoyable drive.
- Non-wine experiences. If you’re looking to do something different during your one-day getaway, Napa can deliver that, too. Visiting the Sonoma Cheese Factory, taking off in a hot air balloon, or visiting one of the area’s many day spas are just a few of the activities you can enjoy.
Another great option is exploring Downtown Napa, where you can take in the public artworks, visit the many boutiques, and even take a gondola ride on the Napa River.
