The Napa Valley is a walkable, dog-friendly destination filled with surprises for two and four-legged visitors alike. It’s home to dog-friendly parks, hotels, wineries, and restaurants, making it a “paw-fect” place to have an unforgettable time with your best bud.
Napa Valley Dog-Friendly Parks and Trails
Begin your day with a visit to Calistoga’s Old Faithful Geyser, one of only three “faithful” geysers worldwide that reliably erupts every 15 to 30 minutes. It’s a pet-friendly spot where leashed dogs are welcome to explore the trails and the museum grounds. It’s especially lovely during wildflower season, which runs from early March to mid-May.
If you’re headed to St. Helena or Napa, you’ll find plenty of trails there, too. There are also three off-leash dog parks in Napa and a dozen more nearby. Just be sure to follow these simple rules:
- For everyone’s safety, keep your dog leashed at all times.
- Please pick up after your dog so everyone can enjoy the park worry-free!
- Don’t let your pet trample plants or chase park wildlife.
Napa Restaurants Welcome Your Pup!
From wine tours to farmers markets and outdoor dining, if you’re planning a visit to Napa with your pet, you’ll find no shortage of things to do and food and drink to enjoy.
One of the area’s best spots for canines is along Napa’s River Walk, where dog-friendly sidewalk tables line the streets in front of restaurant after restaurant. You’ll also find dog-friendly seating on the patio of the Oxbow Public Market and at various tasting rooms throughout downtown.
